REGION – Rain put a damper on this week’s spring action as the majority of area games scheduled for Friday and Saturday were postponed to later in the season. Even with postponements, though, plenty of games took place.
Westborough softball put an exclamation point on its May 24 victory, downing Algonquin 18-0. Five days later, their bats roared back to life, beating St. Bernard’s 29-0.
In Northborough, the Algonquin boys lacrosse team pulled off a narrow 9-8 victory in its game against Shrewsbury. In comparison, the Algonquin girls track team demolished Leominster by a cumulative store of 118-26.

Grafton girls lacrosse beat Tantasqua 18-3 while the Gators softball team grew stronger through the week, beating Uxbridge, Auburn and Quaboag by scores of 7-6, 16-1 and 21-5 respectively.
