Michael W. OliveiraMarlborough – Michael W. Oliveira, 29, of Marlborough, died at home on June 4, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Worcester and raised in Marlborough, the son of Divino and Lazara Oliveira, sister of Samantha, and was a graduate of Marlborough High School Class of 2010. He went on to graduate with both a Bachelor of Arts and Master’s degree in Business Administration from Assumption College. He went on to work as a CPA at AAFCPA in Westborough.

He was an avid Celtics and Patriots fan. Michael took pride in his things such as maintaining his WRX. He loved going for drives around the town without any destination in mind. He was an inspiration to so many people and will be remembered as a caring, kind and loving man. He was brilliant, humble and went out of his way to help others, whether he knew them personally or not, that was just who he was. He was the person everyone went to for advice and he was always ready and willing to give his support.

Those who knew him and had the opportunity to love him and be loved by him know how hard he fought to live. And he fought to live for those he loved and for those he met along the way.  His life was a blessing and changed the lives of so many for the better. Since the age of 11 when he was first diagnosed with cancer, and throughout all the treatments along the years, he never showed fear. He was always laughing or smiling because that is what he wanted to be remembered for. He had said that he never wanted to be pitied because he was stronger than this illness. And that he was. He wants his family and friends to hold onto only the happy memories of him and think of him along their journey through life because once this life ends he said he will be waiting for us with that big smile of his to guide us to eternal life. This is not goodbye. This is just see you later.

Now there is no more pain. He is not only walking again, but he is running and soaring. We will miss him forever and will love him eternally as our friend, our family, our angel, our Michael.

He leaves his parents, Divino and Lazara Oliveira; his sister, Samantha and her husband Randy who he married last year; his family, both here and in Brazil; and many close and beloved friends who he also considered family.

Calling hours were held June 6 at the Collins Funeral Home of Marlborough. Burial was private.

All are invited to sign Michael’s online guestbook at https://www.collinsfuneral.com/obituary/Michael-Oliveira.
