Shrewsbury – Patricia (Hamilton) Kesseli, a lifetime resident of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on June 12, 2021 after an extended struggle with Alzheimer’s. She was 83.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 66 years, Paul C. Kesseli, and her children, Kathleen and her husband Ronald Etre of Grafton, Paul and his wife Nancy Kesseli of Worcester, and Deborah DiIorio of Worcester. She was predeceased by her son, Peter Kesseli. She also leaves her five grandchildren, Amie Etre Marchese, Ariann DiIorio, Erin Kesseli, Matthew Kesseli, and Keslee DiIorio Mendoza, and four great grandchildren, Massimo and Gianni D’Errico, Luca Marchese, and Connor Jacobs.
Patricia dedicated many years in the 1970s advocating for children with special developmental needs, in her local community and statewide. She cherished her Irish heritage, especially Irish music. Cape Cod always held a special spot in her heart, where she enjoyed spending many summers entertaining her family. She will be greatly missed by all, she fought a great challenge for many years, one that at so many times was difficult to watch and understand.
The Kesseli family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at UMass University eighth floor West for their constant comforting care this last week, it was exceptional, and we are very grateful for it.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Patricia’s family on Wednesday, June 16, from 5-7 p.m., at the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. Graveside services will be held privately.
