SHREWSBURY – A man died, Wednesday, after being pulled from a pool on Spring Street in Shrewsbury, police say.
An initial 911 call came in at 8:50am reporting a 60-year old male found unresponsive in a pool.
Shrewsbury Police, Fire and Worcester EMS personnel responded to the scene, with a police officer on a nearby traffic detail being the first to arrive. Upon arrival, that officer found a “Good Samaritan neighbor” had already removed the man from the pool.
“Responders immediately attempted lifesaving measures, and the victim was transported to UMass Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead,” police explained in a press release around 1:30pm.
This incident remains under investigation by the Shrewsbury Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police.
