Harriette E. MowryShrewsbury – Harriette Edna (Perkins) Mowry, 86, of Shrewsbury was called home by the Lord on June 21, 2021, to be reunited with the love of her life, George “Fritz” Mowry, and daughter, Wendy Lydiard, and her beloved dog, Bailey. Longtime resident of Shrewsbury, she was raised in Westborough and graduated from WHS in 1953.

Harriette’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, and her amazing legacy lives on through them: her daughter, Fay Lyn Mowry of Charleston, S.C.; her son-in-law, Scot Lydiard of Rye, N.H.; six grandchildren, Kerrie Cutting and her husband John of Shrewsbury, Justin Rutledge and his wife Courtney of Colleyville, Texas, Matthew Rutledge of Winston-Salem, N.C., Christopher Lydiard and Caitlin Bassett of Shirley, Katelyn Rutledge of Charleston, S.C., and Patrick Lydiard and his wife Samantha of Worcester; seven great-grandchildren, Olivia and Addison Cutting; Jansen and Collins Rutledge, and Emma, Luke and Jack Rutledge; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Helon and Edna Perkins, and siblings, Milton Perkins, Freedom “Buddy” Perkins, Helen Fenlason, Voight “Speck” Perkins, and John Perkins.

Harriette devoted her life to raising her girls and later joined the workforce. Anyone who knew Harriette knew her incredible work ethic, beginning her career at Bay State Abrasives, later moving to Data General. Her proudest achievements were the ones she accomplished as a Real Estate agent with Coldwell Banker and her many awards, including Vice President four consecutive years, International Presidents Circle Award, Gold Circle, President’s Club, 1929 Club, and Top Broker Award.

She was an active fundraiser for cancer research and loved to bake and cook, have an afternoon of shopping, or spend time making beautiful flower arrangements. Harriette’s generosity knew no bounds and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 11 a.m., at the Shrewsbury Congregational Church, 19 Church Rd., Shrewsbury. Private graveside services will be held at Mountain View Cemetery immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
