HUDSON – A set of new faces will soon help Fire Chief Bryan Johannes lead the Hudson Fire Department.
That’s after the Select Board approved the promotion of Lt. Brian Sleeper to replace retiring Deputy Stephen Cariveau at its meeting on June 7.
With Sleeper’s promotion and the simultaneous retirement of Lt. John Carolan, firefighters Jeffery Chaves and Anthony Cunha were each also promoted to the rank of lieutenant.
Due to substantial accrued time off, Carolan and Cariveau will both technically be on leave through the beginning of 2022. As a result, Sleeper, Chaves and Cunha will all serve as acting deputies and lieutenants, respectively, until Carola and Cariveau officially retire.
