WHS graduates win WCLT scholarships
Leila Ahmed is a Westborough High School graduate, now planning to pursue a degree in environmental science or environmental engineering.

WESTBOROUGH – The Westborough Community Land Trust (WCLT) recently awarded two $1,000 scholarships and two honorable mentions to graduating Westborough High School seniors.

Leila Ahmed won a scholarship for her essay describing how she enjoyed nature in the Bowman Conservation Area while growing up.

Colleen McGrath received a scholarship for her essay describing how, through nature photography, she grew from a teenager feeling confined by Westborough into someone who loves nature, especially in Westborough.

Honorable mentions went to Michael O’Keefe and Infanta Antony. 

O’Keefe’s essay described the ways his Boy Scouts experience nurtured an enjoyment of nature into a community service-oriented passion for the outdoors.

Colleen McGrath is a Westborough High School graduate, now planning to study education at Boston College.

Antony also reflected on her experience in scouting, describing experiences exploring nature, especially in the Bowman Conservation Area. 

In college, Ahmed plans to pursue a degree in environmental science or environmental engineering.

McGrath plans to study education at Boston College and is leaning toward a career in secondary education.

O’Keefe plans to study engineering in college, while Antony is eying eventual certification as a physician’s assistant.
