WESTBOROUGH – High above West Main Street in Downtown Westborough, a lone man power-washed the tip of the steeple of the Unitarian Universalist Congregational Society of Westborough’s church, June 21.

The cleaning is part of a repair and repainting process at the church, according to a recent Facebook post by church historian Stacy Spies. Crews are also re-installing a weathervane that once sat atop the steeple.

Installed in 1940, the current steeple is actually the second one in the structure’s history after the infamous Hurricane of 1938 destroyed the original, Spies noted.

The Unitarian Universalist Congregational Society of Westborough is located on 64 West Main Street.
