Hudson – Lois Bishop Gay, 95, passed away on June 27, 2021. Born and raised in Hudson, a member of the Class of ’43, she was the daughter of Earl Waldo Gay and Gertrude Mills Gay.

She is survived by her brother, Roger Earl Gay and his wife Jeanne Courtemanche Gay of Maynard, and was the devoted aunt of her niece, Elisabeth Drury and husband Jay Drury of Maynard; her nephew, Christopher Earl Gay and partner Tracey Lyon of Ayer; and her great-nephews Zachary Gay of Marlborough and Timothy Gay of Hudson. Lois was predeceased by her brother, Frank Gay of Florida; her former spouse, Charles De Merritt of Denver; and her beloved niece, Linda Gay Lewandowski of Bolton.

Lois was a graduate of Green Mountain College and the University of New Hampshire. She had a long career in the medical world at Lahey Clinic and in Denver, Colo.

She was an avid fisherwomen and skier during her 43 years living in Colorado. She enjoyed traveling, particularly to Alaska and Ireland while visiting friends, and sailing in Ireland and Scotland. Although she loved the Rocky Mountains, she returned to her hometown in 1998. She enjoyed her many kind neighbors and friends of the Park.

Funeral services will be private with burial at Forest Vale Cemetery.
