Shrewsbury – Josephine G. (Rotondo) Mayone, 91, of Shrewsbury and Barnstable, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2021 at Shrewsbury Nursing Home.
She is survived by her sons, Larry and his wife Tina Mayone of Shrewsbury and Mark and wife Kimberly Mayone of Portland, Maine, and her daughters, Rosemary Regan and her Husband Mark of Winchester and Patrice (Patti) and James Luster of Barnstable. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren who she was very proud of, Lauren, Kristen and Mary Regan, Nicole, Chelsea and Daniel Mayone, Sophia, Harrison and Evan Mayone and Darius Luster. Josephine was predeceased by her husband, Henry (Harry) Mayone; her sisters, Claudia Murphy and Olga Rotondo; and her parents, Orazio (Roy) Rotondo and his wife Rosemarie.
Born and raised in Cambridge and East Boston, Josephine and Harry spent many years in Marshfield raising their family and retired to Sandwich. Josephine loved to read, listen to music, travel and was known to be a trivia whiz at the nursing home.
A funeral Mass was held July 6 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shrewsbury, with internment will be at the National Cemetery in Bourne.
