Wayne J. ScovilShrewsbury – Wayne J. Scovil, 55, of Shrewsbury, passed away at his home in the care of his family on June 27, 2021. Wayne was battling Stage 4 lung cancer for over three years.

He was the son of the late Jackoline L. (Parker) Scovil. Wayne was born and raised in Westborough. He attended Westborough High.

Wayne worked at the Post Office Pub in Grafton for over 20 years. He loved his job and the people he worked with. He enjoyed camping, hiking, traveling and being with his friends. He was an outdoorsman.

Wayne is survived by his brother, Charles S. Scovil of Worcester, and three sisters, Jeanine Scovil and her fiancé Mark Laferriere of Shrewsbury, Sherri Holly and her two daughters Lynn and Briana of Northborough, and Wendy Martin and her two sons, James and Blake of Shrewsbury. Wayne also had two extended families he truly loved, Travis “Chachi” Bergeron, his wife Kim and their four children, Shayne, Hunter, “Big Al”, and Olivia, all of Milford. Skip St. Lauren was like a brother and his daughter, Makayla, who he loved and adored and she loved and adored Wayne.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 9, at 1 p.m., at Pine Grove Cemetery, 106 South St., Westborough. Following the burial will be a celebration of Wayne’s life at 3 p.m. at the Marine Corps League, 181 Lake Ave., Worcester, MA 01604. There are no calling hours.

Arrangements are in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave., Worcester.

Wayne’s last words: “Peace Out.”
