SHREWSBURY – Jeff Gavioli’s Bad News Jazz and Blues Orchestra, featuring vocalist Cindy Reed, will be performing a FREE concert Monday, July 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Scandinavian Athletic Club, 438 Lake St., Shrewsbury.

Bad News Jazz and Blues Orchestra (BNJBO) is a 19-piece big band that performs swing music from the 30s and 40s, including the likes of Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Frank Sinatra, Count Basie and others. The band also plays contemporary arrangements of more recent jazz, rock, funk and blues music.

Based out of Northampton, BNJBO is known as “The Busiest Big Band in Western Mass” with 30 performances a year, according to a recent press release.

This concert is supported in part by a grant from the Shrewsbury Cultural Council, which is supported by the broader Massachusetts Cultural Council. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available at the concert; therefore, no outside beverages are permitted on the premises.
