Charlotte Burt, 77, of Marlborough

Charlotte BurtMarlborough – Charlotte (Kulevich) Burt, 77, of Marlborough, died on July 7, 2021 after a long battle with End Stage Renal Failure.

She was the wife of James E. Burt, originally from Bibb County, Alabama, and current resident of Marlborough. They met while both were serving in the United States Airforce and were married in 1966. Both Charlotte and James were avid travelers early in their marriage and throughout their lives together.

Charlotte was born on May 4, 1944 to Charles and Mary (Winchenbaugh) Kulevich in Baltimore, Md. Spending her early years growing up in Marlborough, she enjoyed playing in various sports and absolutely adored the New England beaches. Her two younger sisters, Paula Kulevich and Anne Wynne, both residents of Marlborough as well, formed an unbreakable bond for over 70 years.

After serving our country, Charlotte came back to Marlborough and was a lifelong resident. Framingham-based Bicknell Pools was her first job and during the course of a 20-year career she would be introduced to many of her closest friends. The only thing that prevented her from continuing work would be the arrival of their son, William Charles Burt, in 1982. She became a stay-at-home mother for the first seven years of William’s life and she consistently said those were some of her happiest times.

Her second act in life started when she began working in the Marlborough School System. During her 20 years as an employee, she made an uncountable amount of friendships with both peers and students alike. If you ask anybody whose paths crossed her own during these years you would be hard-pressed to find any negative feedback. She loved every student equally and would help anyone at the drop of the dime if they ever asked. She always had a smile on her face.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James; her son, William; sister, Paula Kulevich of Marlborough; sister, Anne Wynne, and brother-in-law, Matthew Wynne, also of Marlborough; sister-in-law, Robbie Nixon and her husband Steve of West Blockton, Al.; and sister-in-law, Katherine Caffee of Brent, Al., not to mention the large amounts of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Services for Charlotte are private and are in the care of the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St, Marlborough.
