Grafton resident receives technical drafting award

A Grafton resident recently received an award at the 2021 SkillsUSA Championship, which was held virtually from June 14 to 24. Catherine Rozanas, who is a student at Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School in Upton, received the high school silver medal in technical drafting.

GRAFTON — A Grafton resident recently received an award at the 2021 SkillsUSA Championship, which was held virtually from June 14 to 24.

Catherine Rozanas, who is a student at Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School in Upton, received the high school silver medal in technical drafting. 

Over 3,700 students competed during the championship, with students showing their technical, workplace and personal skills in over 100 occupational and leadership competitions.

The championship is held every year for middle and high school students, as well as some students in certain college and postsecondary programs. It is part of the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference, which is a nonprofit partnership between institutions of education and industry to strengthen the workforce.
