SHREWSBURY — A 2021 Shrewsbury High School graduate has received a $1,500 scholarship, thanks to the Friends of the Shrewsbury Public Library.
The scholarship is given to a student who lives in Shrewsbury and graduates from high school in the spring.
This year, the scholarship was given to Fiona Tanikonda, who is the daughter of Elisha Tanikonda and Srujana Lakka.
Fiona plans to attend the University of Massachusetts Amherst and major in operations and information management.
The goal of the Friends’ scholarship is to help the student purchase textbooks and other course materials.
Last year, a $1,500 scholarship was given to Zoie Leo.
