WESTBOROUGH — Two Westborough High School graduates were recently awarded $1,000 scholarships during the Westborough Garden Club’s annual plant sale.
The scholarships were given to Isabella Binici and Jane Pittorino.
Binici plans to major in biology at Bucknell University while Pittorino will also be attending Providence College, also studying biology.
“We wish Isabella and Jane continued success in their studies and efforts with environmental issues,” the club wrote in a press release. “The Garden Club is delighted to have such deserving and impressive recipients.”
The scholarships were open to Westborough residents who were interested in pursuing a major in horticulture, landscape architecture, botany, environmental science or a related field.
Last year, the club awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Caroline McDermott.
