A rainbow appeared across the sky, July 19, as bright, late afternoon light cut through rain at Hudson’s Riverside Park.
The rainbow was a welcome sight for baseball players on Hudson’s Post 100 American Legion team who were able to take the field for their game against Newton Post 440 as the rain stopped.
The brief showers came amid an ongoing spell of unseasonably wet weather as weekend downpours in the days before July 19 prompted widespread flash flood warnings and helped shatter the all-time total rainfall record for the month of July in nearby Worcester.
