Westborough Police swear-in new officers, make promotions

WESTBOROUGH – The Westborough Police Department (WPD) swore in new members and promoted two members during the Westborough Select Board meeting on July 20.

Police Chief Jeffrey Lourie said that he was honored to work alongside the personnel in his department.

“It’s been an interesting year and a half for your Westborough Police Department,” Lourie said. “We weathered the storm well and that’s because of our fantastic team.”

Officers Elysha O’Brien, William Ethier Jr., Peter Gerardi Jr., Thomas Tepper, Bohdan Bukhenik, Raymond Bell and John Sweeney were all introduced and sworn in during the meeting. Lourie said that Officer Jonathan Hale was unable to be sworn in at the ceremony as he was on his honeymoon.

Chris Atchue and Greg Schipporeit were promoted to the rank of sergeant.
