John B. MashinskyShrewsbury – John B. Mashinsky, of Shrewsbury, died peacefully at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester on Aug. 1, 2021, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

John is survived by his wife, Nancy J. Mashinsky; his son, John A. Mashinsky; daughter, Erica L. (Mashinsky) Brinn; and his four grandchildren, Hailey Brinn, Payten Brinn, Shane Mashinsky, and Zachary Mashinsky.

John was born on Nov. 16, 1946 in Worcester to John Mashinsky and Mary (Swallow) Mashinsky. He graduated from Burncoat High School in Worcester, class of 1966.

John was a machinist at Jamesbury for years where he manufactured valves.

John was a hard-working selfless man that always wanted to help others. If anyone need a ride or to borrow a car or if a neighbor needs the driveway snowblowed or if he saw someone on the side of the road, he would be there to help.

John loved all animals especially his dogs and cats that he had over the years. Not only did John love animals but they loved him too, he had a loving bond with his dogs Bear and Chuckie, John would look after them, but they would also look out for him.

John was an antique car enthusiast he had many classic cars over the years, but his favorite was his beloved 1957 two-door hardtop. He belonged to the Countyline Car Club, and he would go to various car shows over the years with the “57” and won many trophies. John also volunteered to put on a fundraising car show for the town of Shrewsbury for a few years where he would spend countless hours at car shows handing out flyers promoting the car show.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation period on Thursday, Aug. 5, from 9:30 – 11 a.m., at the Chiampa Funeral Home – 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury Center. His funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor Mike Stoliker officiating. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury
