Thomas A. O’Brien IIIWorcester/Hudson – Thomas A. O’Brien III, 48, of Worcester, former longtime resident of Hudson, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 3, 2021.

He was predeceased by his father, Thomas A. O’Brien Jr., and is survived by his mother, Barbara (Cone) O’Brien of Hudson; sister Tracey (O’Brien) Atkinson and former husband Charles of Clinton.; brother David O’Brien and fiancée Melissa Fosdick of Clinton; Courtney, Corey, and Colbey Atkinson, his niece and nephews; his great-nephew, Charles Vincent; his maternal grandmother, Irma Cone of Clinton, along with his uncles, aunts, cousins and countless friends he loved very much.

Thomas was a graduate of Hudson High school, Class of 1991, and was a Hudson High sports hall of fame inductee. He was a legendary Hudson High hockey player. His hobbies were lifting weights, spending time with his pets, and being with his lifelong friends.

Tom was a dedicated worker at BNY Mellon for 24 years.

Family and friends may attend visiting hours at the Tighe-Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, on Monday, Aug. 9, from 4-7 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 10, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Broad Street, Hudson.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Hudson Elks from 1-5 p.m. on Tuesday to help celebrate Tom’s life.
