Mary E. KielyShrewsbury – Mary E. Kiely, 58, lifelong Shrewsbury resident, passed away peacefully on the morning of Aug. 9, 2021 at Shrewsbury Nursing Home. Mary was the daughter of Margaret (McDonald) Kiely and the late Maurice F. Kiely.

She graduated from Shrewsbury High School and obtained a B.A. in Psychology at Worcester State University. Mary enjoyed volunteering at St. Mary’s Church as well as doing charitable work with good friend Jim Heald. Her interests included crafts, music, and movies. She appreciated being able to connect with family and friends via email, as always interested in others’ lives. Mary had a God-loving, sweet demeanor and kindness, providing a smile to all.

Along with her loving mother, “Peg,” Mary is survived by adoring siblings, sister Patricia Kiely and spouse Diane Galipeau; brothers Brian Kiely and spouse Molly Gail and Neil Kiely and spouse Leslie; her niece, Cameron Hackett; and her nephews, Tyler, Chandler, Spencer, and Reed Kiely.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Shrewsbury Nursing Home for their care and support. Additionally, her family would like to extend gratitude to Monsignor Michael Rose for his love and compassion of Mary.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Kiely family on Thursday, Aug. 12, from 9 -10:30 a.m., at the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St. Her funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. Masks will be required at the funeral home, church, and cemetery, regardless of vaccination status. Burial will be held at Mountain View Cemetery.
