Cecile JohnsonGrafton – Cecile Marie Blanche (Noel) (Mayo) Johnson passed away on Aug. 16, 2021 at the young age of 94-1/2. Cecile was born in Millbury in 1927 to Napoleon and Angelina (Gagnon) Noel. She was employed at Buck Brothers, Millbury and also worked for a local caterer for several years.

In 1969, Cecile married Ernest E. Johnson Sr., and lived in Grafton with their combined families. No words could adequately express the love and patience Cecile used to make their house a home. Saturday morning coffee time was never missed by neighbors and friends debating politics and catching up on gossip over Cecile’s homemade pastries.

Not only did she enjoy family gatherings, she enjoyed the family and neighborhood camping trips to Sebago Basin, Maine. Cecile and Ernie also traveled to Florida, Iowa, Ohio, Nebraska and Las Vegas (she loved the slots). Then there were her escapades to Foxwoods with her best friend Betty Shannon, frequently enjoying their winnings.

Cecile was predeceased by her parents, husband Ernest, two brothers, Aime and Paul Noel, and her son, David Mayo. She is survived by her sister, Marie Claire Saucier of Millbury. She leaves her children, Charlotte Eramo and Brian Kaseta of Maine, Charlene and David Luukko of Douglas, Ellen and Leigh Chamberlain of Vermont, Cheryl and Stanley Caron of New Hampshire, Ernest E. Jr. and Gail Johnson of Charlton, Mark and Linda Johnson of Charlton, and Kerry Marshall of Grafton, and daughter-in-law, Kathy Mayo of Rutland. She also leaves numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m., in St. Mary’s Church, 17 Waterville St., North Grafton, preceded by a calling hour from 9:30-10:30 a.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. Burial, in All Faith’s Cemetery, Worcester, will follow the funeral Mass.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cecile’s name to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016 or to The Bridge of Central Mass, 4 Mann St, Worcester, MA 01602.
