Lawrence R. FotiHudson – Lawrence R. “Larry” Foti, 79, of Hudson, formerly of Marlborough, died on Aug. 15, 2021 at UMass Memorial Health Alliance in Leominster. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Rocco J. and Dorothy J. (Foley) Foti. Larry and his wife, Suzanne (Cincotta) Foti, celebrated 60 years of marriage on July 2.

Larry, a graduate of Marlborough High School, Class of 1961, began his first career as a barber after graduating from Barber School in Boston.

He owned and operated The Classic Barber Shop in the Co-Op Shopping Plaza, Framingham for many years and served on the plaza’s Board of Directors.

In 1984 he opened Pastimes Bar and Grill, a gathering place for much of Marlborough. He was active in the community as a board member at the Marlborough Boy’s and Girl’s Club, and the Marlborough Co-Operative Bank and was the former Clerk of Committees for the Marlborough City Council. He was also a member of the Bolton Street Association and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was proud to be on the very 1st Lions Club Little League baseball team as a kid with his father coaching.

Larry’s greatest pleasure was the time spent with his five grandchildren, Mackenzie, Madelyn and Rocco Malloy and Alec and Aniel Baj. He loved to attend their school and sports events and they especially enjoyed the endless stories he shared with them.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Jackie Malloy of Hudson and Laurie Baj of Marlborough; his grandchildren; his brother, Gary Foti of Georgia; his son-in-law, Fred Malloy of Marlborough; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Patricia Foti and the father-in-law of the late Michael Baj.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Aug. 22, from 2-5 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m., at St. Matthias Church,409 Hemenway St., Marlborough. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
