Northborough Helping Hands receives $3,000 grantNORTHBOROUGH — The Northborough Helping Hands Association, Inc. recently received a grant to help their holiday outreach.

The nonprofit received a $3,000 grant under Fallon Health’s Mini Grant program, which funds valuable lower-cost projects to nonprofits in Fallon’s service area, according to their website.

Before it became the Northborough Helping Hands Association, the organization had been helping Northborough residents since 1920 as the Northborough District Nurse Association.

Helping Hands helps people in need by giving them Thanksgiving meal baskets, food gift cards and Christmas gifts for children.

In Nov. of last year, 123 households received turkeys.

The nonprofit also hosts winter coat and backpack drives and coordinates medical equipment and emergency aid for special services.
