SHREWSBURY/WESTBOROUGH – State Rep. Hannah Kane (R-Shrewsbury) hosted her seventh annual charity golf tournament Aug. 16 at The Haven Country Club in Boylston.

The event raised $60,000 for St. Anne’s Human Services, Shrewsbury Youth & Family Services and the Westborough Food Pantry. Each charity will receive $20,000.

“I am so grateful to have spent one of the most beautiful days of the summer with our incredibly generous sponsors, our very happy golfers and members of our hard-working Host Committee, who together raised $60,000 to donate to our three critical human services agencies in Shrewsbury and Westborough,” Kane said in a press release.

This was the first of Rep. Kane’s charity classics to feature a Hole-In-One, which was made by Medway resident Anthony Varrichione on the 6th hole, golfing in Presenting Sponsor Grossman Development Group’s foursome.

Although the auction was scaled back because of the pandemic, there were opportunities to bid on fine champagne and wine, tickets to the Worcester Woo Sox and Boston Red Sox, golf lessons with Haven Country Club golf pro Hal Jacobs, a round of golf for four. The Hannah Kane Charity Classic Host Committee provided gift cards to favorite local restaurants.

Host Committee member and golfer Tom Fahs won the 50/50 raffle, which was worth $2,675. He donated his half back to the Tournament for the benefit of the three charities.

Event organizers are looking forward to 2022. Next year’s Hannah Kane Charity Classic will take place Monday, August 15, 2022, again at The Haven Country Club.
