MARLBOROUGH – The Marlborough City Council unanimously approved a $10,000 gift from the late Paul and Marie Winske to the Council on Aging at a meeting on Aug. 23.

Councilor John Irish said that the gift, which is to help seniors participate in Senior Center activities, will be needed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I would like to thank the Winske family for the most generous gift for the city of Marlborough,” Irish said.

Both Paul and Marie were lifelong residents of Marlborough.

Marie passed away in January of 2015. Paul passed away on Aug. 12 of this year.

Marie and her husband Paul enjoyed traveling and staying in Maine, especially at Nubble Light in York,” Marie’s obituary read.
