SHREWSBURY — Shrewsbury officially has its resident members of the newly-formed Affordable Housing Board of Trustees.
The selectmen appointed Hector Cruz to a two-year term and both Stephen Trotto and Beth Shea Bryant to one-year terms.
The selectmen spoke in favor of Cruz, who is also a Town Meeting member, in part because of his experience living in affordable housing.
“Obviously, having somebody with a housing background, particularly dealing with subsidized housing or public housing, I think is really important,” said Selectman Maurice DePalo.
The board, which was formed after an article was approved during May’s Town Meeting, will be rounded out by a designee from the selectmen and either the Town Manager or the Assistant Town Manager.
Additionally, the selectmen appointed Barbara Luby to the Shrewsbury Cultural Council to fill a term that expires in Feb. 2024. They further appointed Ann Refolo to the Zoning Board of Appeals.
