Hudson – Barbara M. (Pelletier) Duffin, 72, a longtime Hudson resident, passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 3, 2021, surrounded by her loving family, after a period of declining health. She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband of 25 years, Ronald J. Duffin, who predeceased her in 2002.

Barbara was born in Lynn on Jan 26, 1949, one of four children of the late William R. and Carol L. (Cochrane) Pelletier. They later settled in Hudson in 1953, where she attended school and graduated from Hudson Catholic High School in the class of 1966.

Barbara had a long and successful career working as a Realty Specialist for the Army Corps of Engineers, before eventually retiring. In that role, she worked hard for the survivors of Katrina in and around Louisiana. After the tornadoes struck Joplin, MO in 2011, she worked tirelessly in the recovery efforts on site there.

She enjoyed researching her genealogy as well as traveling in her free time. Most of all Barbara cherished spending time with her 4 grandchildren who she adored.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Helen M. Madhi and her spouse Adel of Hudson; her son, Ronald J. Duffin and his spouse Caitlin of Clinton; two brothers, William “Ray” Pelletier Jr. and his spouse Deborah of Hudson and Leonard F. Pelletier of Hudson; four grandchildren, Mariam and Sarah Madhi and Teagan and Palmer Duffin; and seven nephews and one niece. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Ronald J. Duffin, she was also predeceased by her sister, Carol Mathewson.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation on Thursday, Sept. 9, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, immediately followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. in the funeral home and procession to Saint Michael Cemetery for Committal Services.
