Warren – Francis T. “Fran” Holmes Jr., 73, of Warren, formerly of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 27, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Francis is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ellen M. (Gilpin) Holmes; beloved father of Amanda Brown and her husband Matthew of Shrewsbury, Daniel Holmes and his wife Kathleen of Millbury, and Matthew Holmes and his partner Jennifer Leger of Shirley. Also survived by his loving grandchildren Madden and Ethan Brown and Genevieve and Joshua Holmes.
Fran was predeceased by his parents Francis T. and Margaret M. (Kelly) Holmes and his sister, Caroline Holmes.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the Chiampa Funeral Home, Sumner House, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 5-7 P.M. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Attendees are kindly asked to wear face coverings and practice social distancing while at the funeral home, church and cemetery.
