Arlene M. ProvostGrafton – Arlene Provost, 83, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Arlene was predeceased by her beloved husband of 37 years, John (Fabian) Provost. She was also predeceased by her parents Loretta Boiven and Charles Pichette.

She is survived by her eleven loving siblings and their spouses: George Pichette, Paul (Leo) and Faith Pichette, Charles Pichette, Guy and Missy Pichette, Ronnie and Sandy Pichette, Alan and Debbie Pichette, Phillip and Tim Muirhead, Carol Joncas, Susan Jones, Gloria and Carmen Paglione and Diane Konan. Arlene also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

Arlene was born in Worcester and moved to Grafton at age 13 where she lived for the remainder of her life. She graduated from Grafton High School in 1955. She worked at the Grafton Credit Union for 30 years. Arlene was an animal lover and always had dogs, cats and birds living with her. She loved to garden and to play cards with her friends and family. An occasional trip to the casino brought her joy (if she won).

Arlene (“Ole Bear” to her husband) was heartbroken when her husband died suddenly in 1994. For 40 years, they thoroughly enjoyed life together – motor cycling and camping all over New England and Canada. Their happiest times were together at their quaint cabin on Lake St. George in Liberty, Maine. There, they would boat, fish, swim and appreciate the loons and the scenery. These were her fondest memories.

There will not be any calling hours and the burial will be private. Funeral arrangements are in care of Roney Funeral Home in North Grafton.
