Patricia A. DwinnellWestborough – Patricia A. Dwinnell, 63, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2021 at the VERO Health and Rehab of Worcester.

Patti was the daughter of the late Howard and Dorothy Dwinnell of Westboro and was educated in the Westboro Public Schools.  Patti is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Dwinnell of Belchertown, her sister, Joyce Dwinnell Purdy and her husband, Stephen of Belchertown, her brother Brian Dwinnell of Douglas, as well as her nieces and nephews and their children.

As a child, Patti was a very “happy go lucky” person who enjoyed playing with her neighborhood friends, her pet gerbils, and the family dog Ginger. When vacationing on the Cape, Patti loved going to the beach and picking blueberries in her grandmother’s backyard.

Unfortunately, Patti was diagnosed with schizophrenia as a teenager which ultimately determined the challenging path she followed for most of her life. Patti was a survivor having somehow made it through all the difficult experiences life threw her way. She spent her last years at VERO Health and Rehab due to her failing physical and mental health. In August, Patti was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer which quickly led to her passing.

Despite her schizophrenia, Patti managed to enjoy life at her level, including spending time with her family and friends. Her former brother-in-law, Bob Hansbury, would often take Patti out for shopping trips or to lunch at one of her favorite fast food restaurants.

Patti always appreciated a  good meal and would spend most of her conversations telling you in great detail about her latest  menu. She would always remember your birthday and loved going Christmas shopping to buy gifts for all her family members. Every Memorial Day Patti also made sure that flowers were placed at all her relatives’ graves at Pine Grove Cemetery in Westborough.

Patti will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery, 106 South St. Westborough, on Saturday, October 16 at 10 AM.
