Enzo A. CecchiShrewsbury – Enzo A. Cecchi, 96 of Shrewsbury, formerly of Worcester passed away peacefully Sunday, October 10, 2021, at home.

Born and raised in Worcester, Enzo was one of four children of Italian immigrants, Alfredo and Maurelia (Mauri) Cecchi. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade and New England School of Technology. Enzo then began a career in manufacturing, first with the DiPierro Plastics Company in Shrewsbury, then with Francis Massad company, and lastly as a machinist with Parker Manufacturing for over 17 years before retiring.

In 1946, in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, Enzo married the woman he loved and embarked on a 63-year life of love, devotion and dedication to each other and family with Mary A. Fulginiti until Mary left his side in 2009. Family was everything to Enzo, he is survived by his sister and best friend, Elena Olivieri of Shrewsbury, a sister-in-law Ann Cecchi of Worcester, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. In addition to his parents and wife Mary, a brother, Dante Cecchi, and sister Egidia Leonardi predeceased him.

Enzo was a longtime member of Our Lady of  Mt Carmel church and attended Mass daily both at church and when recently unable to get there the daily mass at Southgate. He was an enthusiastic and accomplished Golfer; he loved the days on the golf courses. Most of the time you could find him on Indian Meadows course and Green Hill, both of whom he was a member. Most notably over his golfing career, he recorded three holes in ones. He also enjoyed bowling and travel with Mary.

A period of calling hours will be held Thursday, October 14th from 9:30 to 11 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. followed by a prayer service at 11 am. Entombment with Mary will be in St John Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in his name can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
