MARLBOROUGH/HUDSON – Area high school sports teams wound down regular season play last week.
For a number of local programs, though, a strong fall season is only getting set to continue.
Hudson football sat in fourth place in the state’s latest round of Division V football power rankings, which will decide playoff seeding in the coming months. That was before the Hawks improved their win-loss record to 5-1, though, by dominating Burncoat on Oct. 15 with a 52-14 defeat at the Morgan Bowl.
Marlborough was in the middle of the pack in its set of power rankings in Division IV, landing in 17th place. While their Hudson rivals ran up the score on Oct. 15, the Panthers locked into a defensive battle with Nashoba, ultimately coming out on the right side of a 7-0 final score.
