WESTBOROUGH – The President of Gaudette Insurance has helped Westborough get closer to meeting its annual tree planting goals.

Lee Gaudette and the Westborough Department of Public Works recently planted a tree on East Main Street, according to a press release from the Sustainable Westborough’s Urban Tree Canopy Committee.

The town’s tree planting goal was laid out in Westborough’s Climate Action Plan and Master Plan.

“This tree gets the town ever so closer to its yearly goal of planting or encouraging the planting of a minimum of 250 trees a year,” the release said.

Sustainable Westborough is a town advisory committee working on a number of projects to promote “environmental responsibility and energy efficiency within the Town of Westborough,” it notes on its Facebook page.
