Deborah A. GirouxMarlborough – Deborah A. (Colley) Giroux of Marlborough, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 18, 2021 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton, MA where she was surrounded by her family.

Deborah – or Deb as she was known to friends, was a beloved member of the Marlborough community. She was born and raised in Marlborough where she raised her own family, built her own business, and became an active member and volunteer to the community for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Marion (Agnew) Colley and the loving wife of Scott Giroux Sr., to whom she had been married for 43 years. In addition, she was the daughter-in-law of Eileen Giroux. Deb was also predeceased by her brother, Walter “Butch” Colley.

Deborah is survived by her daughter, Erin Antonellis and her husband Brian, of Belmont, her son Scott Giroux Jr. of Cumberland, RI, her sisters, Donna Christo and her husband Richard, and Sandra Delaney, both of Marlborough. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Patrick and Peyton Giroux, and Eleanor and Joseph Antonellis.  In addition, Deborah had many nieces, nephews and cousins who were very dear to her.

Deb Giroux was full of life – vibrant, funny, loyal. She was everyone’s friend. She had an open door and an open heart to so many people. In addition to her home, her salon Hair Razors, was often a gathering place for many. After appointments were over, people would linger and chat. Her clients and employees became her friends, and many became like family and that was just Deb’s way.

Deb’s presence was one of a kind – whether you were a member of the family, a friend, sat in her chair at the salon, volunteered with her or just spent time with her in any way she made an impression.  She cherished her family deeply and was the most amazing mother and grandmother. Never missing a single game for her kids, she also attended countless sporting events, recitals, and graduations (big and small) for her grandkids, even in recent years when her health was not great. She would never let her kids down. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved visits from them and always spoiled them with treats and special little prizes that meant so much to them.

Lake Winnipesaukee is the Giroux family’s happy place. She loved spending time on the boat and beach where she would gather with friends and family during the summer. In the winter, she would venture up north for Club’s Annual ‘Girls Shopping Weekend’ and then they would bring their husbands for ‘Club Couples Weekend’. Countless memories have been made “up north” on the water, at the beach, around the famous kitchen table or by the fire pit.

She lived an active, happy, and healthy life for so long until things changed dramatically when she was diagnosed with cancer in 2018. What did not change and what shined through was Deb’s spirit, a spirit and tenacity like no other. With her husband, Scott, by her side along with many friends and family Deb fought her battle with everything she had and did it all without complaint and most of the time with humor and a smile on her face. It would be wrong to say Deb lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. She will forever remain in our hearts. #debstrong
