Alice V. McGovernMarlborough – Alice V. “Ginny” (Walker) McGovern, 93, of Marlborough died on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at The Coleman House in Northborough after a lengthy period of declining health.

The wife of the late Richard L McGovern, she was born in Marlborough, the daughter of the late Erwin Walker and Alice (Sowerby) Walker. She was a 1945 graduate of Peters High School of Southborough.

She worked many years at Marlboro Country Club before working and then retiring from Raytheon Manufacturing company in Sudbury in 1993.

Ginny enjoyed going to plays at the Ogunquit Playhouse and traveling all over the United States, especially the New England Seacoast. She also enjoyed playing cards at the senior center and with friends and family.

She is predeceased by her son Robert C. McGovern and is survived by two sons, Richard L. and his wife Alice McGovern of Templeton, Douglas M. McGovern and his partner Janice Johnson of Marlborough, and a daughter, Joanne McGovern of Leominster; four grandchildren, Richard P. McGovern and his wife Katie of Fitchburg, Christopher M. Stanwyck of Boston, and Robert C. McGovern, Jr. and Kyle M. McGovern, both of Marlborough; two great-grandchildren, Richard W. “Will” McGovern and Isabel “Bella” McGovern, both of Fitchburg.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday October 30, at 10:30 AM at the Lincoln Chapel of the Collins Funeral Home (www.CollinsFuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. Burial at Maplewood Cemetery, Pleasant Street, Marlborough. A time of visitation will be held prior to the service, from 9:30-10:30 AM. F
