Frederick A. BusconiSouthborough – Frederick Anthony Busconi (84) of Southborough, Massachusetts passed away after a brief illness on October 12, 2021.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Inez T (Piotti) Busconi and their four children, Dr. Brian D. Busconi and his wife Karolyn (Welsh) of Hopkinton, MA, Professor Collene E. Thaxton and her husband Edgar of Groton, MA, Attorney Scott Frederick Busconi of Southborough, MA and Alicia Busconi Lynch and her husband Ryan of South Berwick, ME; his loving sister, Ellen Ann Kluge and her husband Boudewyn of Southborough, MA;  his four grandchildren he cherished, Liam and Aidan Busconi and Gregory and Katie Thaxton as well as his many nieces and nephews, extended family and grand Labrador retrievers.  He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony J and Mary V. Busconi and his brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Elizabeth Busconi.

A graduate from Boston College and Boston College Law School, Fred practiced law 60 years. He also served as Town Moderator and Town Counsel for the Town of Southborough for close to 30 years. Although Fred was well known for being a zealous advocate for his clients, he is better remembered for being a friend and mentor to his clients and those that knew him throughout the Courts of the Commonwealth.

Fred enjoyed all sports; excelling at coaching hockey and skating.  He instructed the children’s skating program in Southborough for 30 years as well as coached several youth hockey programs and high school hockey at St. Mark’s.  Fred was proud to see many of his hockey players find success at the high school, collegiate, professional, and Olympic levels.

Alongside his family, Fred’s main passion was for the arts.  Painting early in his life transcended into his love for photography. His love for the camera led him to master scuba diving and underwater photography. His photographs depicted his ongoing desire to capture the beauty of nature. His family and friends will greatly miss Fred and his smile, his sense of humor, and his devotion to his family.

Funeral services and burial in the rural cemetery in Southborough were privately held.  Memorial donations in his name can be made to the American Diabetes Association, Post Office Box 7023, Merrifield, Virginia 2216-7023, and the Worcester County Food Bank, 474 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545-3948.
