Luis A. SilvaMarlborough – Luis A. Silva, 77, of Marlboro, MA, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.

Luis was born on the island of Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal, on January 12, 1944, a son of the late Luis F. Antunes Silva and Lina  (Da Silva) Silva. He was raised in Santa Maria, where he served in the Portuguese Army and later married Judith C. (Tavares) Silva. Soon after being married they immigrated to Hudson in 1968 and started their family together. Luis worked for many years as a Machine Operator for Middlesex Research Company in Hudson, before eventually retiring.

Luis was a longtime parishioner of Saint Michael Church and a member of the Hudson Portuguese Club, where he enjoyed spending time with his many longtime friends. True to his Island heritage, he enjoyed going crabbing and fishing in the ocean, as well as making his native port wines. He also enjoyed playing the lottery.

Luis leaves behind his two loving children, Sandra Cabral of Hudson and Elcid O. Silva of Marlborough; 3 granddaughter, Lilly and Abigail Cabral of Hudson and Alyssa Walker of Bradford, VT; 1 greatgranddaughter Emily Longto of Bradford, VT. a sister, Maria Pacheco of Hudson; 3 brothers, Senfredo Da Silva of Canada and Aguiar Silva of Canada, Jose Silva of Marlboro, Ma. He also leaves many Nieces & Nephews. He is predeceased by 5 of his brothers, Maximiliano Da Silva, Joao Da Silva, Vasco Silva, Aclino Antunes and José Da Silva, Son in Law Jorge Cabral.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 4-7pm at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9am on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning St., Hudson, MA; followed by a procession to Saint Michael Cemetery in Hudson, Ma.
