Shrewsbury – Ann L. (Smith) Lavigueur, 86, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 22, 2021 at Beaumont Nursing Home in Northborough, after a decline in health. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 38 years, the late Jean G. Lavigueur, in 1998.
Born in Southbridge and raised in Framingham, Ann was one of four children born to the late Clarence E. Smith, Sr. and Gertrude (Lusignan) Smith. She was a graduate of Framingham High School, prior to beginning her career in Bookkeeping. Ann dedicated many years to the former Butler Motors in Framingham, until her retirement. She and Jean settled in Shrewsbury, where she lived on Vega Drive for over fifty years.
In her free time, Ann enjoyed bowling every week in a league in Northborough, painting and glazing ceramics, was an avid reader, and loved playing cards.
Ann will be deeply missed by her longtime friend and caretaker, Patty Chiacchio and husband David; their daughters, Michelle, Rachel, and Jennifer Chiacchio Rieder and her wife Pamela, Donna Genatossio and husband Frank; and their daughter, Nancy Genatossio, all of Shrewsbury; along with her many friends, neighbors, and staff of the Beaumont facility. Ann was also predeceased by three brothers.

A calling hour will be held from 9:30 ~ 10:30 AM on Friday, October 29th, 2021 at the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA. Ann’s funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM at St. Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, and burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
