Edith D. MeunierShrewsbury – Edith D. (Belanger) Meunier, 99 longtime Shrewsbury resident, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Paul H. Meunier in May of 1986, her siblings, Rita Foister, Arthur Belanger Jr., and their parents, Arthur Belanger Sr. and Gertrude (Gaulin) Belanger.

Born, raised and educated in Worcester, Edie was a graduate of Commerce High School. At 18 she moved to Shrewsbury. During WWII, Edie worked as a “Rosie the Riveter” welding anchors for Navy Ships. After working in various trades, Edie retired in 1982.

Edie was a faithful communicant of St. Anne’s Church, as well as a member of the Shrewsbury Sportsman Club, Shrewsbury Women’s Club and Shrewsbury Council of Aging.

In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, knitting, crocheting, sewing, doll–making, line dancing, weekly card games and trips to the beach. Most of all, Edie enjoyed time spent with her family. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

Edie is survived by her sister, Dorothy Manning of Millbury and her devoted children, Carol Sullivan, Donald Meunier, Paula Vincequere (James) all of Shrewsbury and Gail Reuter of White Plains, N.Y., eight grandchildren: John, Michele, Michael (Colleen) Sullivan, Daniel Meunier, Andrea (Alan) Plante, Jamie (Erin) Vincequere, Christopher (Theresa) Reuter, Kimberly (Ankush) Reuter and eleven great grandchildren: Aaron and Kellen Sullivan, Hannah Sullivan-Ford, Shawn, Erin, Patrick and Ryan Sullivan, Katelyn and Lauren Plante and Sophia and Ashley Reuter.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tourette Syndrome Association. Checks may be mailed to Tourette Association of America, 42-40 Bell Blvd, Suite 205 Bayside NY 11361 (or online at www.tourette.org).

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Meunier family between 9:30 and 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at St. Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM, all attendees are kindly asked to wear face coverings and practice social distancing while at the church. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
