HUDSON – Avidia Bank is joining forces with New England cornerback J.C. Jackson to support the Boys and Girls Club of MetroWest.

The partnership is part of the “Be a Champion for a Child” initiative.

“I’m in a position now where I can give back to my community,” Jackson said in a press release. “It’s something I’ve always wanted to do. I want to be a voice for the kids out there.”

“I want to give them hope,” he continued. “I want to help the kids at the Boys & Girls Club of MetroWest with Avidia Bank and be that next role model these kids can look up to.”

Avidia does the “Match of the Game” at every home game during the season, partnering a child and a mentor from the Boys and Girls Clubs of MetroWest and sending them to see a game together.

Avidia Bank will also be donating $1,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of MetroWest for every defensive interception and defensive recovery all season long, up to $30,000.

“We have been a longtime partner of the Boys and Girls Club of MetroWest and we are excited to highlight the great work they do through the help of J.C. Jackson, while also giving back,” said Avidia Bank President and CEO Mark O’Connell.

Avidia recently held a media day to kick off this initiative with the help of 98.5 The Sports Hub. Follow Avidia on social media to see who is picked for the Match of the Game and view the ongoing tally of funds raised as well as more information on the Avidia Bank website
