Elisabeth Javid, 91, of Marlborough

Elisabeth JavidMarlborough – On Nov. 15, 2021, Elisabeth Pawlowski Javid passed away unexpectedly. She was “just” 91 years old. Elisabeth (Liz) was born in Danzig in 1930. She was a survivor of perilous times. Her brother was killed and one of her sisters disappeared during World War II. After the war, Liz and her surviving family members moved from Danzig to Germany.

But brighter days ensued for Liz. She spent time in Switzerland and eventually followed a friend to the United States. Liz met her husband, Baha, in Minnesota and soon started a family of her own. They spent time in Colorado, Michigan, New Hampshire, and finally settled in Marlborough, Massachusetts.

Liz loved children and raised three of her own. She was always engaged with children whether volunteer teaching German at Kane Elementary School, operating a day care, or involved with her grandchildren. Liz was warm, generous, and devoted to her community, neighbors and family. She always had a loving smile and was filled with positivity.

Most importantly Liz was a mother and best friend all at once. She made her kids who they are today. They are proud to have had her as a mother. She will be missed dearly by her children. Liz lost her husband last year and that loss was tough for her. Though her family grieves her passing, they take comfort in knowing Liz and Baha are together again. She is survived by Karen Ebner and family, Michael Javid, Sasha Javid and family, one sister, Ellie Schafer, and lots of nieces and nephews who all loved her deeply.

Like her husband, Liz will be honored in a ceremony at Evergreen Cemetery in Marlborough.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 6:00-8:00PM at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA 01752. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough, MA 01752.
