Shrewsbury Historical Society congratulates award winnersSHREWSBURY – The Shrewsbury Historical Society is congratulating the winners of its Shrewsbury History Award as well as its Shrewsbury Historical Society Restoration and Preservation Award.

The History Award is given annually to a person who shows a record of outstanding leadership, service and interest in the history of the town. This year, it was presented to Lauren Finacom, who designs and publishes the Society newsletter, created a School Tour program and who serves as the Society’s Assistant Curator.

The Restoration and Preservation Award honors an individual or organization that completed a restoration that is an enduring example of Shrewsbury’s historic architecture. It went to Joseph McDonald and Christine Cyzander, this year, for their recent restoration work at the Dr. Augustus Brigham House on Grafton Street.

“Congratulations to these recipients for their contributions to the community,” read a press release announcing these awards.
