Shrewsbury – Joanne Scott Warren, 92, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving husband and family.
Born to Roy and Dorothy (Wolf) Scott, Joanne attended Staples High School in Westport, CT, where she met the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Warren. She attended a year of design school in New York City, specializing in millinery and dress-making. She then attended U-Conn, Storrs, where she majored in Home Economics and was president of her sorority, Pi Beta Phi.
Joanne enjoyed being outdoors, hunting with her father in her youth, canoeing, cross-country skiing, and primitive camping. She was very talented with arts, fabrics, and decorative creations, leaving many beautiful works to her children, whom she raised primarily in Princeton, MA and Newtown, CT. She lived in Keene, NH and Marlow, NH, for 23 years before moving to Southgate of Shrewsbury in 2004.
She leaves her beloved husband of 69 years, Charles B. Warren; children Holly Heidenreich and her husband Ted of New Harbor, Maine, Scott Warren and his wife Catherine Plourde of Rockport, Maine, and Shelley Wieler and her husband James of Meredith, NH. She was pre-deceased by her parents and her daughter Cindy Pozotrigo. Joanne was tremendously proud of and enjoyed her time with her 9 grandchildren: Tedra Leonard and her husband Wayne, Gretta Kuebert and her husband Kevin, Giancarlo Pozotrigo and his wife Michelle, Sally Burbank and her husband Jake, Abby Warren, Grant Wieler and his wife Maura, Dr. Jane Wieler and her husband Dr. Peter Eyvazzadeh, Maesie Wieler-Reinhard, CCNP and her husband Alex Reinhard, and Scott Wieler. She leaves 5 adorable great-grandchildren, with 2 more on the way.
There will be a celebration of life at Southgate of Shrewsbury in early December.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests a donation to VNA Care Hospice of Worcester, 120 Thomas Street., Worcester, MA 01608, or the Salvation Army.
