Roberta P. LaPierreNorthborough – On Thursday, November 18, 2021, Roberta P. (Kenward) LaPierre passed away peacefully at Beaumont of Northborough after a period of declining health; she was 93 years old. Roberta was the devoted wife of 70 years to Joseph T. LaPierre until his own passing in 2017.

Roberta is survived by her loving daughter, Corrie Martin and her husband Thomas of Boylston; her daughter-in-law, Nancy LaPierre of Shrewsbury; seven grandchildren, Karrie LaPierre Escoto, Robert LaPierre Jr, Melissa Martin Duquette, Daniel Martin, Katie Martin Wexler, Cody LaPierre and Sadie LaPierre; 9 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Roberta was preceded in death by her three sons, Randall LaPierre, Robert LaPierre and Jody LaPierre.

Born in Worcester and raised in Spencer, Roberta was a daughter to the late Percy and Annie (Fairbrother) Kenward. She was a graduate of David Prouty High School and for many years worked within the Massachusetts State Hospital system. She first served as a nursing aide at the former Monson State Hospital then, in 1968, relocated to Northborough as she began her employment as a mental health assistant at the Westborough State Hospital. For many years Roberta looked forward to summering in Wells, Maine and camping. She enjoyed crafts, knitting, sewing and crocheting. After her retirement Roberta enjoyed being a doting grandmother to her grandchildren.

There are no planned public services at this time; all services are private, for her family. Roberta’s family request any memorial donation be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 (www.alz.org).
