Northborough – Mark E. Rickard passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Jennifer A. (Morello) Rickard for 24 years.
Born in Worcester and raised in Northborough, Mark was the son of Bruce and Patricia (Tabor) Rickard. He was a graduate of St. John’s High School Class of 1986. Mark earned his BA in Economics and Accounting from the College of the Holy Cross in 1990 and subsequently earned the designation of Certified Public Accountant.
For 25 years Mark was employed as the Controller of Peterson Steel Corporation in Worcester. For the past two years he was employed as a CPA with Griffin & Company, PC in Hudson.
Mark enjoyed attending concerts and sporting events, especially Bruins games. He was a collector of vinyl record albums and sports trading cards. He enjoyed vacationing in Wellfleet and Chatham and playing golf. Mark made a personal connection with everyone he met and enjoyed many long-term friendships. He loved his family and was considered ‘the rock’ they could rely on.
In addition to his wife Jennifer, Mark is survived by his loving mother Patricia of Northborough, his sister Susan Rolfe of Westborough, nephews John Rolfe and his wife Rachel of North Grafton and Jacob Rolfe of Westborough and his significant other Melissa Hamilton, his Aunt Nancy Tabor of Millbury, his mother-in-law Patricia Delaney of Hudson, brothers-in-law, and cousins. Mark was preceded in death by his father Bruce in 2014.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 5, from 1pm to 4pm at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Monday, December 6 at St. Rose of Lima Parish, 244 W. Main Street, Northborough. Interment will follow in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough. The wearing of masks is recommended while inside.
