Robert W. DeveauxMarlborough – It is with deepest sadness, that our family announces the passing of Robert (Bob) William Deveaux, 87, of Marlborough, MA. Bob passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 2, surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born on August 14, 1934 in Waltham, MA, where he grew up and met Jacqueline, the love of his life, during his high school years. Bob and Jackie were married on March 11, 1956 and soon moved to Texas where Bob proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. After completing his duty, Bob found work as an Electrician at Raytheon Corporation, brining them back to MA where they did short stint in Waltham, giving birth to their daughter Cheryl. Soon after they moved to Marlborough where they would complete their family, giving birth to their son, Bill and spend the remainder of their life together in their original home. That home was a staple in the Deveaux family, spending many holidays, birthdays and family gatherings. One of the many things “Grams and Grampy” cherished was the countless visits their 7 grandchildren made to that very home.

In addition to spending time with his family and being a proud Electrician for Raytheon for 35 years, Bob loved playing golf, being an avid Boston sports fan, playing cards, telling stories, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, and making many trips to his favorite place – Foxwoods, Let It Ride was his game.

Bob was the son of Vincent and Celina (Cormier) Deveaux, both of Waltham, MA. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jacqueline (Breton) Deveaux, his daughter, Cheryl Beaudoin and her husband Thomas. His grandchildren, Bryan Beaudoin and wife Amy, Kyle Beaudoin and wife Jennifer, Alex Deveaux and wife Shana, Nathan Deveaux, Dana Deveaux, Devin Deveaux, and Kyra Beaudoin. He was lucky enough to have four great-grandchildren, Hunter, Bridgette, Winnie, and Paige Beaudoin.

Bob and Jackie unfortunately lost their son Bill in an industrial accident 5 years ago which caused them both very heavy hearts. Bob can now be with Bill, which is a comfort to all of his family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 9, at Immaculate Conception Parish, 9 Washington Ct, Marlborough. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Marlborough.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one of Bob’s favorite foundations, St. Jude at https://fundraising.stjude.org/site/TR/DIY/DIY?px=7323115&pg=personal&fr_id=133399.
