SHREWSBURY – Patrick Subaru plans to relocate to a new site near the intersection of Route 9 and South Street.

“We’re very excited about this move, as it will allow us to grow with our expanding customer base here in Central Massachusetts,” said Owner Jim Patrick in a press release.

The dealership is currently located at 247 Boston Turnpike. According to a press release, the new site, which spans about 15 acres, is about two miles away from that Route 9 home.

“The dealership has outgrown its current facilities and is planning a state-of-the-art Subaru Exclusive Signature facility with over 50,000 square feet of building space,” that press release said.

Subaru of New England Vice President of Market Development Bryan Dumais said the new site will be one of the “largest and most advanced retail automotive destinations in New England.”

It will allow Patrick Subaru to grow over the next 50 years, Dumais said.

The site has been purchased and staff are working on the design plans, which call for a two story vehicle showroom and about 40 service bays.

The dealership is anticipating that it will employ about 100 people.

The dealership plans to start Shrewsbury’s permitting and licensing process soon and is hoping to receive the town’s approval in the coming months.
