Paula E. MacMillanHudson – Paula E (Darcy) MacMillan, (88), passed away with her loving family by her side on Sunday, December 12, 2021. She will now be united with the love of her life, Robert W. MacMillan Jr. who passed away on January 18, 2017.

Paula was born on September 18, 1933 and was the daughter of Daniel J Darcy and Elizabeth (Darcy) Skakle both deceased and sister to Dorothea (Darcy) Marden also deceased.

Paula is survived by her daughter Andrea Guerin and husband Roger, her son, Robert D. MacMillan and wife Joanne and her daughter Elizabeth A. Dowden and husband Scott. She also leaves her grandchildren, Nicholas and Katie Guerin, Daniel, Jack and Mary MacMillan and Jake Beland. She also leaves sister-in-law, Carol (MacMillan)Morris of Connecticut and many nieces and nephews.

Paula was a graduate of Waltham High School in 1951. She was employed by John Hancock, Middlesex and Boston Street Railway in Waltham and then moved to Hudson where they resided for over 50 years. She worked at Hudson Lance Pewter of Hudson. She was also a secretary at Digital Equipment Corp. at Parker Street in Maynard, MA and took early retirement after 18 years. She then worked for Eastern Casualty Insurance Co. in Marlboro until retirement.

Paula was an artist, and enjoyed painting and making crafts, writing poems, reading and singing. She was also the Queen Mum of the Red Red Robins, when the group would enjoy all the adventures of traveling, foods, and laughter thru 11 years.

Since 1947, Paula and Bob’s summer home at Parkwood Beach, Wareham, was their destination for their family and grandchildren. They enjoyed many years of laughs and fun with their Cape family.

She enjoyed her many friends when they moved to their new home at the Meadowbrook Mobile Park.

Paula and Bob were married 57 years. They were partners, which was a big part of how to stay the course, with the highs, lows, and turnarounds. Paula also had a special place in her heart for their beloved Peek a Poo, Coco, who was the light of their life. Paula will be missed by family and friends.

We would like to thank the staff at the Salmon Beaumont community in Westboro for taking care of Paula.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM followed by a service and celebration of Paula’s life at 4:00 PM at the Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will be held privately by the family at Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson, Ma.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure or Heart Association.
