Robert C. BrodeurMarlborough – Robert C. Brodeur, 92, of Marlborough, died on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Northborough, MA. He was the son of the late Charles and Diana (Cote) Brodeur.

A graduate from St. Anthony’s Parochial School, he then attended The Oblate Fathers’ Seminaries in Bucksport and Bar Harbor, ME.

Robert served in the Army during the Korean War. After completing basic infantry training, he was transferred to a military intelligence service group and attended Army General School. He later became a censorship instructor upon his return to his unit.

Upon his return from the war, he went on to work at Deerfoot Farms as a sales analyst and also worked in the credit and payroll departments. He then went on to work for the M.D.C. Water Department Division for 25 years before retiring from Concannon’s Office and Supply Store as a receiver.

He is survived by his nephew, Jay Kavanagh and his family of Williamsburg, VA, his nieces, Donna Kavanagh and her daughter Lisa Eggleton of TN, Elise McCauley and her family of Quincy, MA, Jean Coulombre and her family of Medfield, MA, and Suzanne Brodeur of Quincy, MA. Robert was predeceased by his brothers Joseph Brodeur and his wife Eleanor and Doria Brodeur, his sisters, Pauline Ballard and her husband Hector, and Anita Kavanagh and her husband Francis, and his nephew Gary Kavanagh.

He enjoyed reading, playing Scrabble, listening to classical music and was a word puzzle addict.

He was a faithful parishioner of Immaculate Conception Marlborough for his entire life.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021, from 9:00 – 10:30 AM at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St, Marlborough, MA 01752. A funeral Mass will be held on December 20, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough, MA. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beach St., Marlborough, MA.
